Jo's Granny's Bread Recipe
2 C. hot water (warm to touch)
2 pks yeast (4 1/2 tsp)
Mix, let set about 10 min or so.
Add:
2/3 C sugar (or honey or molasses or any combo of)
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 C flour (I use 1 C each white and whole wheat or rye or 2 C white)
let rise till doubled.
Then add:
1/2 C oil
2 C flour (I use 1/2 C white and 1/2 C wheat plus 1 cup of oatmeal - or 1 C white and 1 C wheat or rye - or 2 C white)
let rise till doubled.
Then add 1 C more flour (or same combo 1/2 and 1/2)
Shape loaves and let rise till doubled. (Split top with knife and pour on butter if desired.)
Bake at 350 till done. (Brown on top and kinda hollow sounding.)
I bet you could add all the flour, let rise and then shape and let rise again before you bake it. This is just the way Granny did it, so it is tradition.

Half an Update is Better than None
Kerry wants pictures of Hoff from BZ's in-person with the living legend. Kerry is up too early.

Bubba, aka Marcello, likes to wear 5 pairs of undies and play ninja turtle. "Since he hurt himself doing karate kicks he now wears extra padding." Kerry's child would enjoy playing with him, but would not bother with the underwear.

Karen's craftroom is looking good. The rest of the house? Don't ask. Morgy's Digital Scrapbook Pages. Child harnesses. Triplets at Morgy's house? Fish. Baby preparations/appointments. Kristi mops too much. BabyStep 2-b is widening your butt. Kerry's emotional. We don't blame her! And she won't share hats with kids who might have lice. Reality should be against the law.
Where are the kitten pictures? The Shameless Swam is still injured. Morgy needs to write stories. BZ's Anniversary is coming up. We all fit in -- weird is good here. Andy Dick. BZ gets medals and we're invited to BZ's party.

Quick update on a slow day

Karen saves money on DH's truck repairs. Misty overcharged by Electric company. Landlords could be related to mechanics. More mechanics.

"I went back to look for the recipe. It was posted by "CoastieNC" in the Never Fail Crockpot Recipes thread in the Kitchen Forum. Here it is (just copied/pasted from her post)."
Crockpot BBQ – North Carolina style, vinegar based BBQ pork2 tbs. brown sugar1 tbs. Paprika2 tsp. salt1/2 tsp. pepper1 boneless pork butt or shoulder roast – I use about a 3-4 pound one and that makesenough for plenty leftover1/4 c. cider vinegar (I use a little more)2-4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce1 ½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes1 ½ tsp. sugar1/2 tsp. dry mustard1/2 tsp. garlic powder – I use more1/4 tsp. cayenne pepperCombine brown sugar, paprika, salt, and pepper and rub mixture over roast. Place in crockpot, sitting it on top of about 6 foil balls to hold it out of the liquid (original recipe said to brown first but I never do that). In a bowl, combine vinegar, Worcestershire, pepper flakes, sugar, mustard, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper. Mix well. Drizzle half of vinegar mixture over roast. Cover. Cook on low 10 hours or on high 6 hours. Remove meat. Discard juices. I put meat on a large plate and remove any fat, most of it melts off during cooking. Shred meat with two forks if desired, or just pull apart. It is falling off the bone tender. Use remaining vinegar mixture to drizzle over when serving. In our case, I make a double batch of the sauce and put half in during cooking and save the rest for serving.I usually put this in the crockpot before we go to bed – high for a little while then turn to low before I go to bed – and let it cook all night. Then in the morning remove the meat. Most all of the fat in the roast melts away during cooking. Cooking all night gives more browned edges too, more like real BBQ. After you shred the meat, if you stir in more of the vinegar sauce and let it sit for long, it really spices it up! Might want to try just adding it when you serve it until you see how you like it.I usually buy the boston butt that is about a 7 pounder, and have the butcher cut it in half for me and package separately so it fits easier in the crockpot, and it makes plenty.

CHEATERS NEVER WIN!!!

Shameless Backlog

Kerry has kept two out of three free fish from a fair alive. LadyMyst's DD wakes her up too early then takes a nap. Her DS runs on at full-speed. The secret party comes out of hiding.

Kerry's tile project is grouted and drying. DS is working on art without a plan. He reads well (maybe a junior librarian!) DH is grouting in bathroom.
Sharra sleeps in but she's still tired. Abby has a mean female chihuahua and realizes how addicting shamelessness is.

Depends on the type of game and age of the wooter, it can either be spelled "woot" or w00t". Tends to happen more in the MMORGs (Massively multiplayer online roleplaying games), such as Everquest, Ultima Online, World of Warcraft, even Star Wars: Galaxies:)
Proper usage of the term can be "Woot! I used my uber bow and owned that dragon!", or if they are younger and/or immature, it would be, "W00t! J00 gotz pwn3d, d3wd!"
Renae brings us a giant Girl Scout cookie. (See post 42068.) She has 300 boxes of these to deliver. We're going to an 80s-themed party with her. We give her our old clothes.
